1. Case Study: Short Term Rental Occupancy Trends Presentation
Created with Excel & PowerPoint
Background: The Sales Operations team for a hospitality and short-term rental company observed improved occupancy performance from 2017 to 2018 despite no substantial product or policy changes. They requested an analysis to understand the factors contributing to this unexpected trend.
Objectives: Validate whether the data supports the team’s claim of improved occupancy, identify the cause(s), assess how other variables (room type, person capacity, region and country) were impacted, and provide data-driven recommendations.
Impact: The analysis uncovered the true driver behind occupancy gains, enabling evidence-based decisions to reactivate hosts, expand supply, and sustain growth.
2. Case Study: Employee Separations Dashboard
Created with Tableau Public
Background: A HR VP sought to understand the financial and organizational impact of voluntary employee separations. While turnover metrics were being tracked, there was limited visibility into how separation costs, time-to-fill, and tenure trends evolved over time—or what underlying factors might be driving attrition.
Objectives: Quantify YTD separation costs, identify KPIs and YoY changes, and explore sentiment differences between active and separated employees. The goal was to move from static reporting to data-driven storytelling that links financial impact with employee experience.
Impact: The analysis highlighted how turnover and costs increased, driven mainly by longer-tenured, higher-cost employees leaving the organization. While sentiment scores were generally consistent between active and separated employees, those who left rated career development slightly lower, suggesting it may be a potential area for further exploration.
